You know its fall when the slow cooker reappears. This is a really easy recipe, can be varied in multiple ways to suit your taste and will leave your house smelling FANTASTIC! I love the Winesap apple for its spicy wine flavor ~ perfect for an apple sauce or apple butter. Enjoy!

What you need:
6 pounds Winesap apples - peeled, cored and sliced
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
Directions:
Place apples and vinegar into a large slow cooker, and place lid on top. Set on High, and cook for 8 hours, then turn to Low, and continue cooking 10 hours more. As you check in at 8 hours the apples might need some mashing.
After 18 hours, stir in white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, clove, and allspice, and cook 4 hours more. If the recipe is a little too thin try leaving the top off the slow cooker for the last hour.
